Information

International Supper

I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing evening on Saturday – with ticket sales, heads and tails game and the raffle we raised an amazing £818.09.  Very special thanks go to Ann Armstrong for organising the event on behalf of our youth, all the cooks of the wonderful international cuisine, those who came along to support and eat and last but not least our wonderful young people who looked after guests throughout the evening. (Gloria Benson)

Finance: Both of our parishes are in a relatively healthy position at the moment. It is important, for both parishes that we try to balance our offertory income against our day to day outgoings. As you will well know, our running costs are always going up. This, along with the additional duty of providing a salary for a married priest in the new year, means we need to ensure that we receive as much support from you as possible. At this season of giving we ask you to review what and how you give. If you are able, could you give a little more? Do you gift aid your donation? Remember that this give us 25% additional income at no extra cost to you. Contact Florence and Alan Graham at Holy Family and Tim Flesher at Holy Angels, if you wish to join the scheme. Planned giving, using envelopes, is another way that helps us to plan. Using a standing order is also helpful. If you have any questions please speak to any of those named, Deacon John or contact the office.

Treasurer: Rob Faul has unfortunately decided to stand-down from his role as Treasurer of the Finance Committee at the end of January for personal reasons. We would like to thank Rob for his service over the last four years which has been very much appreciated. This will mean that we shall require a new treasurer as part of the finance team. You don’t have to be an accountant but you will need to be good with figures. (If you are interested please contact Tim Flesher or Deacon John)

 An Advent Prayer

Our heavenly Father, as once again we prepare for Christmas, help us to find time in our busy lives for quiet and thought and prayer; that we may reflect upon the wonder of your love and allow the story of the Saviour’s birth to penetrate our hearts and minds. So may our joy be deeper, our worship more real, and our lives worthier of all that you have done for us through the coming of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Frank Colquhoun
