Mary’s Meals – A huge thank you to all those at Holy Family who have donated towards the Mary’s Meals Appeal.  We should be able to send about 35 backpacks which is an amazing result. However, we are actually short of backpacks/school bags (17 in total!)so if any family has any old ones they are happy to donate we will be extremely grateful.  We are also short of 17 pairs of flip-flops, and tennis balls, so again, any one able to donate, (clean 2nd hand would be fine) please bring into church and leave in foyer or speak to any of the J&P team.Thank you very much.   J&P Team

Father David Message

Countdown to Christmas – Week 2
Second Sunday
 of Advent

On the Second Sunday of Advent we light the Second Candle to remind us of the Angel telling Joseph that he was to be the Father of Jesus and to remind us to pray for all Fathers as they help their families get ready for Christmas.
Blessing of the Child Jesus Crib Figures for home Cribs will take place on the 4th Sunday of Advent at All Masses.
Thank you to the people who offered such encouraging comments about the leaflet on Confession – a number also (I hope jokingly) said that lunch in the Presbytery after confession would be an attraction (so some of you were listening to the Sermon then!!!)  Thank you also for the comments that since the building of the hall at Holy Angels when the Confessional was demolished there has been no place for an “Anonymous Confession” at Holy Angels.  This is something that I have also been concerned about and so we hope that we have now addressed this point by installing a curtain in the Parish Office which will be drawn for Confessions and if you wish to face the Priest you can just walk round the curtain and take a seat facing the Priest as before.

The children of Holy Angels will be opening the 2nd Advent Box after the 11am Mass this Sunday.

Stars of Remembrance – are now available for those from both Churches attending the First Carol Service on Thursday, 19th December.  Please put H.A. for Holy Angels and H.F. for Holy Family so we know whichChristmas Tree the Stars are to go on.

God Bless you all              Father David
