Father Robin will be available for Confession before both Masses.

 Youth:

As many of you will be aware, our Youth Group leaders and six of our young people are spending three weeks in Tanzania this summer helping at the Karibu Nyumbani orphanage. The children are in need of good quality second hand shoes. Have any of our smallest parishioners just grown out of their shoes? We would welcome donations and, from next weekend, there will be a collection box in both churches. The boys are aged from 4-6 years and the girls from 1-6 years. Children’s clothes and small, light games and story books would also be appreciated. Thank you, Sally Brennan

A & B Diocesan Golden Jubilee – Sunday 5th July This is a once in a life time opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of our Diocese with our new Bishop. Coaches will be provided for this event. A list is available at the back of both Churches for people to sign if they are wishing to travel by coach.

We can confirm that one coach has now been booked for this event and we still have 20 seats available.

World Youth Day 2016: Next Summer the Diocese will be taking a group to Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day. It’s an amazing chance to deepen your faith with about 3 million other Catholics from around the globe! WYD lasts for a week. The week ends with a huge vigil with the Pope and then the final Mass the next day!

We’ll be travelling out there by coach and staying in a hotel on the outskirts of the city, not too far from the action. Application packs are available from the Youth Service website www.yaab.co.uk. You can also apply on line, but make sure to download a pack so you get all the info. Feel free to get in touch with Jack if you’ve got any questions (01293 651158 – Jack.Regan@dabnet.org)

Month of May: Please ask our Lady to pray for our Bishop designate during this month. Offer up a Rosary or even a simple Hail Mary for him every day if you can.

You can also say this prayer for him:

O God, eternal shepherd of the faithful, who tend your Church in countless ways and rule over her in love, grant, we pray, that Richard your servant whom you have called to be set over your people may preside in the place of Christ over us, the flock whose shepherd he will be, and be faithful as a teacher of doctrine, a Priest of sacred worship and as one who serves us by governing, Through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

Baptisms

Baptism forms are available at the back of both Churches. Parents will need to attend an evening Baptism course. Please return your completed Baptism Form to Deacon John Edwards so that you can be included in the next Course which will take place in June.

PlentyCost Nothing Party – 7th June at 2pm – Ash Centre & Recreation Ground

Why not come along and join us as our Youth Group are down to sing at this event and there will be lots of activities to take part in.

This really is a great way to witness to our faith with other Christians in our area so please do come along with families too – you could make it a picnic day maybe.  Some of you will spot that it is not happening on actual Pentecost Sunday which is today, nevertheless the spirit of the occasion is still to reach out to those who do not have faith or who have slipped away from their faith.

Has anyone got a gazebo to spare?  We have needed these in the past with blazing hot weather. (Gloria Benson)

Gift Aid Tax Letters: Many thanks to those Parishioners who have already collected their Gift Aid Tax Letters. However, there are still a number awaiting collection. Please kindly take your copy to save on postage. Thank you.

Teresa O’Donohue (RIP):

The sister of the late Father John O’Donohue, namely Teresa O’Donohue, has sadly passed away.

We are told that Father O’Donohue used to bring his sister Teresa with him when he was saying Mass at both Holy Family and Holy Angels and that during this time Teresa had got to know a particular couple from Holy Angels Church very well. The lady who phoned the office was unsure who the couple were, but felt that they would want to know of Teresa’s sad passing.

Plant Sale to raise funds for the trip to Tanzania.

There will be a plant sale at Holy Angels Church following both Masses next Saturday 30th and Sunday, 31st which is being held solely to raise funds for the trip to Tanzania by some members of our Youth Group.

Prayer Group: takes place once a month on a Tuesday in the Parish Office at Holy Angels Church at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.
Dates of the forthcoming meetings: 9th June, 7th Jul, 8th Sep, 6th Oct, 3rd Nov and 1st Dec.

More Church Cleaners required:

Are you able please to spare about an hour of your time to help clean our Church? At the moment we have an insufficient number of people to help, which means the same people are having to clean the Church more frequently, whereas if we could get more people on the Rota, it would only mean giving an hour of your time every 6-8 weeks. Please give this some thought as we really would appreciate more volunteers to help keep our Church looking lovely. (contact Mary Norton on: (01252 714990 if you are able to help) Thank you.

Prayers for the sick

We pray for all those who are sick at this time and we pray that the Lord in his infinite goodness will hear our prayers and restore them to complete health. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen

We pray at this time especially for: Deacon David Morgan, Connie Tewkesbury, Jane Brown and Sharon (sister of Marian Grannell) Tina Coleman, Carole Appleton and Louise. Thank you.

PLEASE NOTE: The Parish Office will be closed from Monday 1st June and will open on Mon. 15th June. Emails will not be responded to during this time but the answer phone is available if you wish to leave a message and will be checked daily. Please contact either Deacon John or Father Robin if you have anything urgent. Thank you
