Mary’s Meals Backpack Project: The J&P team wish to thank all the parishioners from Holy Family and Holy Angels for their magnificent response to the Mary’s Meals backpack project.  We spent most of Monday evening checking and packing up the backpacks and donated items ready to be collected by Mary’s Meals container this week.   The total for both churches came to a huge number of 36 backpacks! We really are overwhelmed with your generosity especially in these difficult financial times and would like to thank you all so much.  It is only by such gestures of selflessness and sharing that we are able to do so much for those in less fortunate circumstances.

Holy Family Christmas Eve Tableau 2012
During this year’s Christmas Eve 5.30pm Mass at Holy Family, the Children’s Liturgy group will be taking part in a Tableau.  We would like as many children from both churches to be involved and they are welcome to dress up as Shepherds, Angels etc to form a procession after the Gospel where the Baby Jesus will be presented onto the altar.  We would like two children to be Mary and Joseph.  If you would like to put your child’s name forward please kindly complete the List available at the back of both Churches.  Names will be drawn out of a hat which seems a fair way of doing it. For further information please contact Julie Mulhern on julie_pettigrew@hotmail.com or 01252 725799

Father David’s News

Two Parishes Carol Service – Saturday 22nd December at 5.30pm – Readers are still required to read at both Holy Angels and Holy Family Church,  Mince Pies from both churches are needed (Please see the list at the back of church today) Mulled wine and soft drinks will also be available.  This is a community event for people of all Faiths and none so please take the opportunity to invite your neighbours and friends.  The collection will be for the Humanitarian Aid for the Syrian Refugees.  Together we can make this a great event.

Midnight Mass:  As Midnight Mass is shared jointly between Holy Angels and Holy Family it is only right that people from both churches get a chance to take an active part in the Mass.  It is, therefore, very important that we have a combined Choir or Singers practice. Alternative date suggested is Tuesday, 18th Dec at 8pm at Holy Angels.
