We will be using the Diocesan Lent Course which is focusing on the first Reading of the Sundays in Lent. It would be helpful to know numbers of people who might be interested in attending, so please sign the lists at the back if you think you might come.

Last Year’s Palm Crosses: To those of you who have kept your Palms from last year, we would be grateful if you could please kindly bring these with you next weekend so that these can be used as ashes on Ash Wednesday. With thanks

Diocesan Jubilee Celebration

Will take place on Sunday 5th July at the Amex Stadium in Brighton.

Please put the date in your Diary if you have not already done so. We are looking into the possibility of booking a coach for the Parishes so that we can attend the Mass on that day together. (Further details are available on both Church Notice Boards.)

The Triangle Sale now on until 21st February

Why not come along and see for yourself. Most items are reduced. Books, calendars, crafts, CDs, jewellery, gifts, Fairtrade items and many more. (see Notice Boards at both Churches for more information)

Accommodation Required to rent: A Parishioner from Holy Family is looking to rent a 2 bedroom property, preferably furnished either a flat or house in the Farnham, Aldershot or surrounding area. (If you are able to help please kindly call 074770 44974). Many thanks.

Baptisms

If you are wanting a child baptised in the next three or four months please obtain a form from the back of the Church and hand it, as soon as possible (even if you cannot complete it all), to either Deacon Robin or Deacon John. It is recommended that you obtain and read ‘Your Baby’s Baptism – Catholic’ from Redemptorist Books (Product Code: 1028 ISBN: 9780852314111). Prayers

Deacon David Morgan, Newton Abrew, Connie Tewkesbury and Jane Brown.

Please also remember in your prayers Veronica Rosemary Johnson who was a Parishioner at Holy Angels for many years but sadly died on 24th January, 2015 at Cedar Lodge Nursing Home. (Funeral will take place at Holy Angels on Thurs. 19th Feb. at 12.00pm followed at Aldershot Crematorium at 1.30pm)

Holy Angels

Liturgy of the Word for children: Please remember that on the first and third Sundays of the month when we offer liturgy of the word for children (from 4yrs up to First Holy Communion) we are requesting that during mass we leave the St Mary’s Meting Room solely for this use. This is to comply with our safeguarding procedures, and makes it easier to offer a better liturgy for the children. If you need to take a younger child out of church for part of the service please use the foyer.

Women’s World Day of Prayer – Friday, 6th March

A meeting for all representatives is to be held at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Ash on Thursday, 5th February at 8pm. (If you are able to attend as a representative. please let the Parish Office know)

Prayer Group

Holy Angels and Holy Family Churches will take place once a month on a Tuesday in the Parish Office at Holy Angels Church at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.
The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 10th February, 2015.

Volunteers to clean the Church

Can you spare an hour of your time to help clean the Church? At present we only have a small team of ladies who help to keep our Church looking so beautiful and we are grateful to them for the time they give and for being so reliable. It would, however, be helpful if we had a few more people on the Rota. May be it could be something you could do as a family, or may be some of our Youth may like to help. The more people on the Rota the less number of times you would be required.

Holy Family

Urgent Message from Life

Genetically Modified (GM) Babies

News has just come through that Parliament is going to vote as early as next Tuesday, 3rd February on whether to make a radical change to the law and allow the laboratory production of genetically modified three-parent (in some cases even four-parent) human beings.

Please note that Forms are available at the back of both Holy Angels and Holy Family for Parishioners to Petition against this shocking measure. We are very short on time as our Petitions need to be with our local MP by next Tuesday, 3rd February.

Prayer for a new Bishop

Heavenly Father look with mercy on your people, and grant us a new shepherd. Help those who choose our Bishop to listen to the voice and guidance of your Holy Spirit and to act for the good of your holy Church. Father, we ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Amen
